Am I being paranoid?

	Asked by jennyboog (Female; 34; Dx. 28Jul with stage III IDC to the left breast and several regional nodes. ; Relevant drugs:2 rounds AC chemo so far, neulasta, ativan, vytorin, prilosec, claritin ) on Sat 04, Sep 2010 12:49pm
	Hi, Because my cancer is in my left axillary lypmph nodes I started having weird sensations and spontaneous pain down my left arm. In between the chemo tx. I started having those same sensations in both groin areas and bend of my knees, I know this is where pools of lymph nodes are. Now it has started in my right axillary and right arm. I am scared the cancer has spread to other lymph nodes but don't feel any other swollen superficial ones at this time. My dr. checked my count and says my white count is high and that and the neulasta explains the pain. My muscles do ache the day after my neulasta but the best way I know to describe it is a weird pulling, tighting or streching sensation, not really a pain. Although I do have the spontaneous pain once in a while. I just want to know is this normal side effect of chemo, high white count or am I just paranoid. Thank you for any info. you can provide.

	Answer by bobby s, md on Fri 10, Sep 2010 09:52am: Hello, Symptoms of pain, aches, and "weird sensations" and other neurologic/muscular manifestations are classically described by patients who are on growth factors like neulasta. Your high WBC counts also support this theory. You are not being paranoid, you are just experiencing a real and known side effect of a drug you are receiving. I am super paranoid about coming in contact with any carcinogens.
