There can be several reasons for this bleeding, both cancer related and non-related.
First of all, the possibility of the cancer recurring, though small, is real and significant. for this reason it is best to have another colonoscopy study done as soon as able to document if there is indeed a recurrence.
Second, this could be a problem other than the cancer, such as hemorrhoids, diverticulosis, or angiodysplasias in the colon. these benign conditions are likewise diagnosed through colonoscopy.
It is recommended that you discuss the possibility of colonoscopy with your doctors, and I hope it is anything but cancer related.
