Brain Cancer - numbness in left arm, random muscle spasm in all different parts of body

Asked by patchesxx (Male ) on Mon 10, Mar 2008 02:34am

Hi, Lately I have been feeling really off my game. I have been having numbness only in my left arm, random muscle spasm in all different parts of my body, feeling nauseous, getting head pains at like 4am or around that time, having pressure in my ears, and get really light headed when I stand up, have pressure behind my nose and eyes, at time get really irritable and seem to be tired a lot, even though I get enough sleep, and also seem to have a loss of appetite. I don't know what's going on with me should I be worried? Sincerely, Lisa

Answer by Dr Paul S, MD  on Mon 14, Jul 2008 10:11pm:

Hi. It is really hard to tell if this is indeed brain cancer due to the non-specificity of the symptoms. Other conditions that could explain these symptoms would include stress, anxiety and some form of depression. Demyelinating conditions such as multiple sclerosis (MS) may also explain these symptoms especially if these are progressive and worsen over time. Vascular problems such as small strokes can also cause these symptoms. Since there are numerous possibilities, I believe it is time that you have yourself evaluated preferrably by a neurologist. For now, avoid too much stress and have adequate rest. Regards and God bless.
