Hi,
At age eighty, your only complaints are early morning awakening. Apart from BPH medications, you have no other illnesses. Your prostate symptoms too are well controlled.
Having had several normal colonoscopies over the years, the last one 4 yrs ago, I think it is very unlikely that your symptoms point to colon cancer. The fact that you have no pain or abdominal discomfort, nor have any change in bowel habits, is a reassuring sign.
Waking up after 5 hours of sleep is quite natural for an elderly male. You may like to take a short nap in the afternoon to compensate for waking up early. Keep up the exercise schedule.
If your complaint of "something is not right in my lower abdomen" persists, you may like to consult an internist.
All the very best to you!
