Has the endometrial cancer returned?

Asked by debs1955 (Female; 79; Aortic valve stenosis, high blood pressure/cholsteral/arthritis/glucoma/some memory loss/surgery for endometrial cancer in May 09.; Relevant drugs:Simvastatin/Verapamil/Asprin 81/Furmeside???/vitamins ) on Tue 15, Sep 2009 10:24am

I had surgery in May for endometrial cancer, stage 2A or 2B (not sure - different opinions). Due to the other health problems I was advised not to have radiation. I have just been back to doctor for a follow up and some of the tests done were CA125, CEA, CBC, CMP. All the blood test were normal. Before and right after surgery I did not have an appetite and ate just a little bit each day - My stomach always bothered me. My abdomen felt like a big balloon - nothing in there but air. However, these last few days my stomach feels different - still soft but more firmer - like there is something in there beside air. My appetite had gotten a lot better and I eat a lot - sometime more than 3 times a day. I eat a lot of fruits/vegetables/chicken and fish especially. I also drink a lot of 100% fruit juices and a lot of water. Could this account for the way my abdomen feels. Or do you think there is something wrong in there.

Hi, You have not elaborated on the "other health problems" due to which you were unable to receive radiation therapy after the surgery. Currently, your medical examination is presumably normal since you have recently had a check up by your doctor. It is likely that your cancer, the surgery and other health problems were causing the symptoms of bloating and loss of appetite and your appetite is now returning to normal. It should, in all probability, be a good sign. Please discuss with your doctor regarding the need for any further evaluation. All the best.
