I agree with you that so far, there has been limited trials using Navelbine in the adjuvant setting for early stage breast cancer. There is one trial called the FinHer trial which combines Navelbine and Herceptin for 9 doses, but this is followed by 4 doses of Adriamycin and Cyclophosphamide.
However, even in the absence of published trials, some institutions and cancer centers have their own protocols, which in their own setting, they have proven to be equally effective. There are also a lot of studies that never gets published due to logistic reasons and your oncologist may be referring to these.
I suggest you discuss this with your oncologist, and I hope that your treatment will be as uneventful as possible.
