What is a typical cancer patient like? How many leukemia patients do you see each year? What are the feelings you have when you have to tell people they have leukemia? Is this a difficult job to have? Is there a way to prevent leukemia?

Hi, You have asked a question that is very difficult to answer. Being a hematologist or an oncologist is one of the most difficult jobs in the world. It requires years (even decades) of study and work. It requires physical, and more importantly, mental toughness, to deal with the daily grind of seeing desperately sick patients. Equally, it is a challenging and rewarding profession. Cancer is one of the truly big challenges facing the human race. There is no known way to prevent leukemia. All the best, and God Bless!
