Answer by Dr Bobby V, MD  on Mon 31, Mar 2008 12:12pm:

Hi, Although some cancers can occasionally present with leg numbness, it is much more likely that you have a neurological problem. Perhaps you have some sort of neuropathy that is causing numbness from the hip downwards. Please consult a neurologist, who after a thorough physical examination, may recommend tests like MRI Spine, EMG/NCV (electromyogram, nerve conduction velocity), and blood B12 levels. All the best!
