Answer by Dr Heinrik M, MD  on Fri 28, Mar 2008 06:34pm:

Hi, Please verify your diagnosis. Nodular sclerosis is a type of classic Hodgkin's Lymphoma not Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. For this post, I am assuming that you have Hodgkin's lymphoma. Treatment options for disease limited to the groin and pelvis would include chemotherapy only or a combination of chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy. Chemotherapy usually involves multiple drugs, commonly 4 drugs. Treatment response is evaluated and the total number of chemotherapy may change based on interval re-evaluation. You seem to have early stage disease but the presence of the fever makes your case more difficult to treat. This means you may need more sessions (cycles) of chemotherapy. Cure rates may range from around 70-90%.
