abdominal pain lowgrade fever back pain, is this linked to fibroid or cancer symptoms

baby 6 months ago. diagnosed with a fibroid measuring 8 by 10 cm. Have been having other symptoms more recnently. pain in my left lower side, like a stich, stinging like pains low down in my pelvis/vagina...loads of lower back pain. always have a low grade temperature and bleeding after sex. are these symptoms to do with the fibroid or is it possible that could be linked to my ovaries possibly cancer. would appreciate an opinion

Hi there. Large fibroids can indeed compress other organs inside the pelvis, and this may result in pain and discomfort in that area. It is also possible that the site of the previous surgical scar still has damaged nerve endings that can cause the pain. Your symptoms are non-specific, and does not by themselves, point out to cancer. The bleeding after sex may be related to some form of infection such as pelvic inflammatory diseases, which may need to be treated with antibiotics. It is best that you inform your gynecologist about this. I believe that a transvaginal ultrasound may be needed to note the state of your uterus and ovaries. Regards.
