having pregnancy like symptoms but not pregnant, have had ovarian cyst in past, mother had ovarian cancer, normal pap 3.5 months ago

Having bloating, fullness in ab area, occasional pelvic pain, breast tenderness,frequent urination, trouble controlling bladder at times, irregular periods, nausea,sign. weight gain,occasional lower back pain. I have had ovarian cyst in past, had a normal pap about 3.5 months ago. My mother and great aunt have had ovarian cancer. With a normal pap just 3.5 months ago is it possible that I could have ovarian cyst again or even ovarian cancer? Should I contact my doctor?

Hi. I understand your concern. Given your strong family of ovarian cancer, and previous history of ovarian cyst, there is a significant likelihood that there may really be something wrong with your ovaries. This can be a cyst or a mass that can be causing all this pain symptoms. A pap smear just tells you the state of the cervix, and does not assess the ovaries. I suggest that you have this looked at by your doctor or gynecologist and probably have the pelvic organs worked up. If these turn out to be normal, then the gastrointestinal system may warrant further investigation. Wishing you the best. Regards and God bless.
