Non Hodgkins Lypmhoma or Hodgkins Lymphoma - Swollen gland and X ray showed something on lung

	i have swollen glands and a chest xray showed something on my lung. What might this be? I've been told it could be hodgkins or non hodgkins. Also the doc mentioned anothe condition beginning with s which is non life threatening but incurable

	Answer by Dr Fernando, MD (oncologist) on Fri 04, Apr 2008 05:19pm: Hi, I would just like to get additional details regarding your case, as these can help me answer you better. How old are you? How big are your swollen glands? Are they tender or painful? Do you have fever? Night sweats? What was the abnormality seen on chest x-ray? Your doctor is probably suspecting that you may have lymphoma (cancer of the lymph nodes) because of your swollen neck nodes. But you can only be certain of the diagnosis if a biopsy of those neck nodes is made. This is probably what should be done next. I'm not sure about that other condition your doctor mentioned. Sarcoidosis, perhaps? This is a benign condition which can present with swollen nodes and lung lesions. Anyway, I hope to hear from you soon so we can discuss your problem further.
