Hi, The answer would depend on how complete was the hysterectomy. In the past, surgeries called subtotal hysterectomies were done, which meant leaving the cervix. This situation raises the risk of cervical cancer, and hence the procedure is no longer performed. If you had a total hysterectomy (which included removal of the cervix) then the chances are very low. What was the reason for the hysterectomy? Was there a suspicion of cervical cancer during that time? The bleeding of course raises concern, even in the absence of the cervix, it is possible to have bleeding in the vagina itself. Consult your gynecologist soon and take the first step in finding out.

I am not sure about the cervix, I did not have cancer. I had endometriosis. Its been about 25 years ago. Thank you for your answers this is great I have no insurance and makes it hard.

Surgery for endometriosis would have attempted to remove the cervix as well. It is possible however, that there was some technical difficulty in removing the cervix due to the adherent nature of endometriosis. IF you experienced no pain after the hysterectomy, then chances are that the surgery removed the cervix as well. A hospital record would be helpful, but I'm not sure how easy it would be to find an operative technique done a quarter of a century ago. So at the day's end, we're still uncertain, so the recommendation would remain the office consult with your gynecologist.
