Answer by Dr Vinod, MD (oncologist) on Wed 27, Jan 2010 05:46pm:

Hello toelump95, The most important things are symptoms to diagnose the lump and also an examination would help in proper diagnosis. If you have pain and inflammation it can be due to fracture, infection, haematoma or callous formation. It can also be if it is painless due to sebaceous cyst, varicose vein, ganglion, skin conditions and tumors etc. Go for an examination for diagnosis. Take care!
