Hi. I am hoping a Doctor can help direct me. Iunderstand that this is not medical advice, only direction. For over a month my ears are in pain. The pressure is terrible and causing both ears to really hurt. The right side is worse and seems to be swollen right under the ear lobe where my glands are. The pain is constant. I have a lump that I can feel in the back of my throat on the left side. If I zip up my coat it feels likes im choking or my coat is too tight. I do NOT have sore throat pain. I feel like I constantly need to clear my throat, cough or swallow. It doesnt work. It feels as though everything inside running under my jaw line is swollen and sore. I have had NO fever nor been sick. I am scheduled for a CAT Scan next week and my new GP didn't know. I am a smoker, 46 years old Any ideas?

Hello lmiller421, The first thing I would advice you is to quit smoking. You might have swollen lymph nodes which are present below and back of the ears. The other reasons are infection in your middle ear or any lump due to parotid salivary gland, thyroid problems etc. A CT scan of you head and neck area can be helpful. I would suggest you to follow up with an ENT. Take care!
