Small lump on the outside of my anus

Asked by carlotolentino40@yahoo.com (Female; 25 ) on Mon 01, Feb 2010 02:12pm :

A Few weeks ago my pack passage was really itchy. I then noticed a really small lump on the outside of my anus. It doesn't hurt unless I go to the bathroom, when I do it nips & bleeds occasionally there's a clear discharge. There isn't any blood in my stools & there's been no change in my bathroom habits (except the lump). Can you help me with this? Im really embarrassed to go to the doctor.

Answer by Dr. Harsh Abbott (oncologist) on Wed 03, Feb 2010 05:17pm:

Hi, there are several possibilities for anal lumps beside cancer like external hemorrhoid, prolapsed internal hemorrhoid, strangulated hemorrhoid, perianal haematoma, anal tags, anal polyps, anal warts or anal condylomas and anal abscesses. I suggest you to consult your physician for these possibilities. Thanks.
