Answer by bobby s, md (oncologist) on Mon 01, Mar 2010 11:24am:

Hi, It is impossible to accurately predict the clinical outcome of any individual patient. As a general rule, patients with Stage 4 lung cancer with brain metastases do not survive very long. However, much can be done to alleviate suffering and reduce symptoms. Discuss with your doctor the option of palliative CyberKnife therapy to reduce brainstem pressure. All the best, and God Bless!
