In August of 2008, I had a CT scan due to left side abdominal pain after food poisoning. The CT revealed that I had a cyst on
my liver that was 2.3cm on my right hepatic lobe. I seen a liver specialist who did blood work and an ultrasound and said
that it was nothing to worry about it, I was born with it. About 4 months ago, I started getting dull aches on my right side
(where my liver is) so I went to see my family doctor. She had an ultrasound done. She faxed the results to my liver
specialist and I now have a 28cm (yes 28!) on my left hepatic lobe. I go for an MRI in a few weeks, then to see the
specialist in 6 weeks. I can't wait that long for answers. I have had blood work to rule out the worm (can't remember the
name) that gets in your liver. I took oral contraceptives in 2004, 2005, and 2006. I have never been pregnant. So my
questions are:
What could make my cyst get so HUGE?
What could make my cyst go to the other lobe?
Could this be cancerous?
What could it be in general?
Other than the occasional pain in my liver, I feel fine. I'm energetic, rarely get sick, no jaundice. I'm just really scared.
Thank you so much.
