Doctor: Hi, Please describe your health concern , age and gender

Patient: i would like to know what can be the cause cause im feeling discomfort in the upper stomach and breathing discomfort even while im talking. im female 32 yrs old

Doctor: Most common concern while people feel upper abdominal pain is first gastritis (or acid reflux) hich can also cayse cough along with breathing discomfort

Patient: no im not coughing.i woke up this morning is like i have a tight belt arond the stomach

Doctor: Your continued upper stomach pain and breathing difficulty may be related to gastritis (that appear as gas-like tightness in chest and stomach) as some of these nerves are stimulated by the refluxed acid, and this stimulation results in pain (usually heartburn). I hope you are not pregnant?

Patient: nope for sure. i went d/c last september

Doctor: Ok

Patient: can it be heart related ?

Doctor: These symptoms actually aggravate with pre-menstrual symptoms. It can be however gastritis mimics with such cardiac (heart) related concerns, Since gastritis is very common..

Patient: even tough i took a chest x ray and it came back normal

Doctor: I would recommend you to take any over the counter antacids as emergency treatment but in case there is no relief then consult your PCP (primary physician ) and get an ECG done to rule out any cardiac ailments

Patient: i did that too before the d/c it was fine aswell

Doctor: Since you are doing very well with the investigations, i don't see anything is a major worry here

Patient: i am fraid that i have something wrong cause the breathing sometimes is very discomfort

Doctor: However gastritis which is the most likely possibility here provoked by stress, pre-menstrual symptoms, spices and oily food Besides excessive stress would also lead to sudden breathing difficulties as well as gastritis

Patient: thanks alot

Doctor: Just try meditation , breathing exercise to relieve your anxiety as it will surely help
